Creating A Ping.FM account

Many businesses have implemented a social media strategy and are using tools like Linked-In, Facebook, Twitter and others to drive traffic and create new leads.  The problem that many of them have is keeping up with all of these social media sites.  

Ten percent of your marketing budget is the current trend that businesses are spending on social media.  With so little time how are some of these companies successful?  There are many strategies you can use but we are going to focus on Ping.fm.  The first step is to get an account! 

This article will focus on getting you up and running with Ping.fm.  I've included a video below that provides some insight on this nifty tool.  When it comes to strategy, go here, an article on exactly how to manage all your social media sites with one tool.

Signing up is easy as pie, just follow the screenshots.

Enter your email address and choose a password.

The Dashboard

After you get your account you need to go to the Dashboard or Home page of www.ping.fm.

Click Here to Add Networks

The first time you log on to Ping.fm you will be reminded that you cannot use this tool until you associate it with at least one of your social networks.

List of Available Networks

Choose the network you want to affiliate with Ping.fm by hitting the "Getting Started" link. If you don't have an account with a particular network, select the icon and it will take you to the network's site.

Connecting To Facebook

Click the button to connect with Facebook.

Verification

Ping.fm wants to verify that this is the Facebook account you want to share information with. If you are sure, confirm.

One More Step

There is one more step to take to allow Ping.fm to publish to Facebook. Select the "Click Here" link to confirm or select the "Remove ..." link to back out.

Facebook Setings

Choose your settings or accept the defaults. When you use Ping.fm to post to these groups (Status, Micro-blogs, blogs) your Facebook will also be updated. The "Extra Settings" will allow you to post pictures, videos and music.

Your Network is Updated

Hit the "Update Settings" button to save your settings. You can use this screen to enable/disable your ping account. You can also enable/disable which accounts you post messages to.

You can select "Add More Networks" to add the next one.
